Office hours, Monday, February 19

Captain Liberty had woken up in her own bed, in an apartment that was just a wee bit trashed due to having been inhabited by a five-year-old who had been so intent on playing in the boxes that still hadn't been unpacked yet. Well they were all unpacked now. Then she'd listened to the podcasts from radio over the last couple days, just to see how bad it really was.

And her secret identity had been outed. Twice. (Never mind that she'd done it to herself at least once. Seriously, never mind it. I said never mind.)

So Captain Liberty is in her office with the door cracked open, repeatedly banging her head against the desk, lightly enough so as not to cause concussion, and wondering if the bar at Caritas is open yet. Maybe they'd open especially early today?

[Oooooopen.
And before anyone asks, I'm not only fine with her being outed, I'm freaking running with it. Hehehehehe.]

After finishing his office hours, Fraser was intent on going home and staying there. But, seeing Captain Liberty in her own office and knowing what he'd called her last night, he knew he had to make apologies.

So, he knocked on the slightly open door.

Head still on the desk, she says, "Enter."

It might be a little muffled as, well, deskpads muffle sound. It's a little-known fact.

That didn't sound very good but Fraser ducked inside anyway.

"Good morning," he said, tucking his hat underneath his arm. "I'm not sure if we've been formally introduced yet."

She picks her head up, barely, putting her neck at an awkward angle. "Captain Liberty, hi, how ya doing."

The cape gives it away. "You're...Janet, aren't you?"

Aaaaaand head back on the desk.

"Yep."

"I think we might've met this weekend," Fraser said. "And I need to apologize for that meeting."

"You didn't put paste in my hair or anything when I wasn't looking, did you?" Again, muffled, because deskpad.

"No," he said, shaking his head. "I called you fathead." That last part might've been mumbled.

"I am not fat," she says immediately, because the first thing back in her head as an adult is years of Cosmo reading.

"No, you're not," Fraser said apologetically. "I apologize that my child self called you that. I'm Constable Benton Fraser, by the way. I'm the head of school security."

She picks her head up. "Nice to meet you," she says. "Did you bring alcohol?"

"Unfortunately not," he said, looking apologetic again. "Are you all right?"

"Uh huh," she says. "Fine. I'll just be better after a bender. And some Ben and Jerry's." She thinks. "Maybe both at once. Booze cream."

"That sounds rather...unsafe," Fraser said. "I really am sorry."

"Ah, don't worry about it. Totally fine. Little kids are supposed to be obnoxious," she says, waving a hand. "Sticks and stones and la la la."

"Thank you," Fraser said, nodding. "I'll let you get back to...whatever it is you're attempting to do."

"Thanks," she says. "Good to meet you, Constable."

"And you as well, Captain Liberty," he said. Nodding, he took his leave.
