Office hours- Superheroing classroom- Tuesday

Captain Liberty's holding office hours in the classroom today. There's a sign on the door reminding the students class will be on Friday in the auditorium, but she figures in case anyone both forgets and reads the sign, she can remind them herself. Also in case anyone has any questions. Also because she doesn't want to look like a slacker to the school board.

"Government trained?" Batman asked. "Excellent. But how are your detective skills?"

"Fair to good," she says. "No superpowers to aid me, so I rely on common sense. It gets me pretty far."

"You remind me of myself," Batman said. "Simply superior fighting skills, no powers, detective skills, and gadgets. Do you have gadgets?"

"Not really, no," she says. "You have gadgets?"

"Batarangs, batropes, bat-sprays, bat-cuffs, bat-gas-mask, bat-smoke-bombs, not to mention the Batmobile, Batcycle, Batboat, Batplane, and Batcopter," Batman said.

She nods as she listens. "I sense a theme."

"The theme is bats," Batman said, helping Captain Liberty take that logical step.

"Aha," she says. "But you weren't like, bitten by a radioactive bat or anything?"

"Of course not. That would probably give me some sort of radioactive rabies," Batman said. Because he was a scientist and knew that.

"Aha. Just checking. With all the bat stuff," she says. "Do you just really like bats or something?"

"After a... specific stimulus as a child, I fell into a cave and was confronted by a large bat. It was then that I realized that a bat would be the perfect symbol to strike fear into the hearts of evildoers," Batman said.

"I always thought bats were kind of cute," she says. "I mean, not all bats or anything. And some just need to be slapped a couple times."

"I don't know why you'd slap a harmless animal," Batman said.

"Well, not the animal, really, just..." She sighs, rubbing her forehead. "Long story."

"Understood," Batman said even though it wasn't. "Well, thank you for your time, Captain. I will leave you be at this point."

"It's been nice meeting you, Batmanu- Batman. Yes, Batman." She's going to shut up now.
